Babies R Us gift registry? I signed up online for a baby registry at babies r us. I noticed half of the items ore supposedly only online...my question is, When people go to BABIES R US will they see only wats in stores according to the registry or will they see my complete list? Also can i or will i have to just go personaly to the store too add items ?
How can I add gift cards to my baby registry at Babies R Us? I've set up a baby registry at Babies R Us, but I can't figure out how to add gift cards or if it's even possible. At amazon.com I just selected a gift card and chose "add to Baby Registry" but I'm not getting that option at Babies R Us. Do you know if gift cards can be added? Do you know how? Thanks @ Just Some Chick - thank you! I had already done what you suggested, but I thought that since Amazon allows me to put gift cards in the registry, Babies R Us would, too.
Babies R Us Registry Help? My showers are over and I've gone to Babies R Us and used the gift certificates. Thank God for family and friends. This stuff is expensive!! Anyway, Babies R Us gets you with their "10% Off" after the due date. Well, I want the majority of the stuff before the baby comes. I highly doubt I'll feel like shopping right away after the birth. Soo.......my question is, what would you recommend I add to our registry for when he's a little older? I'm trying to get a discount on things I'll need a little farther into the future. Ex. umbrella stroller, larger diapers, potty seat, etc. Thanks so much for all your help!
Will Babies R Us take back items that were bought off your registry WITHOUT a gift receipt? my aunt had bought me something that I had registered for, but I would like to return it. It's a Velboa Snuzzler, but I already have a JJ Cole Bundle Me, and an infant headrest in my carseat, so there's no point in using the "snuzzler." She didn't include a gift receipt. But it was purchased off my registry. Will they give me store credit? (I read their return policy but I didn't see that mentioned) What about if the guest had purchased the gift more than 30 days ago?
Problems with Babies R Us Registry? I am currently registered with Babies R Us. For the past 2 weeks, nothing that has been purchased off of my registry has showed up as being bought. I've done some research on the internet on several forums to see if anybody else has experienced the same problem, and haven't been successful. There is an upwards of 50 to 60 items that are not showing up on my registry! I don't mean to sound material, but I spent a lot of time on my registry- and the last thing I want to do is run around in the last few weeks of my pregnancy making a million returns. Then another problem emerges if I do not get gift receipts for the many doubles I'm sure I will recieve! (Due to BRU's strict policy for returns) Am I alone?
Anybody else have problems with their online Babies R Us Registry!? I am so frustrated by my online Babies R Us Registry. Everytime I go on there to update registry information or check if I have gotten anything off of it, its so slow! I only registered there to get the free gift box full of samples as its too expensive for me to shop there compared to Target and Wal Mart but still frustrating!!! Anybody else have issues with it? I am also registered at Target and Wal Mart and didn't have any problems there! :-) I love that I will be able to get discounts when its closer to my discount with whatever is left on my registries there! They are so much cheaper and they are closer to my house.
Baby Registry - Would you find it easier to buy from amazon.com or a babies r us store? I have been asked to set up a registry for my baby shower in January and I know for a fact that we are having over 70 people coming to this event. I am at a crossroads with "where to register". In all my years of gift gifting for showers I personally always preferred to shop online and not at Babies R Us, since I find them to be overpriced. I find that amazon.com has great deals, plus free shipping on items over $25 and no sales tax. Most if the people coming are internet savvy, except for a handful. I just want to get the opinion of the ladies out there, would you find it easier to shop in store at Babies R Us, or would you prefer to shop on amazon.com? The age group of people coming to the shower are from 18-85 :)
Did you have any trouble with the Babies R Us registry? Hi, My shower is in two weeks, so I've been checking out our registry periodically to see if I need to add or remove anything. A few gifts that people bought for us over a month ago are showing up as purchased. The invitations went out a week ago and nothing new is showing up as purchased so far, which I figured was probably normal. However, my sister mentioned she bought something online four hours ago and when I went to make sure that the registry was updating correctly with her purchase, it still looked the same. I'm hoping it actually works and that I don't wind up with 5 of the same gift! Has anyone else had experience with it being slow to update, or any other problems? Thanks!
Anyone have experience making returns to Babies R Us? Ok, bear with me. My baby shower is in 2 weeks. However, when I stopped babysitting fulltime for a family, they wanted to buy me a baby gift, so I guess they searched my registry info on Babies R Us.com and bought me a really nice $50 lamp. The problem is, I made my registry really early on, and I hadn't finalized anything, and I ended up changing the nursery set I wanted. The lamp does not match my nursery AT ALL now that I changed it. The whole nursery set (including that lamp) is not sold in stores. It's Online Only (a pain in the butt). I do not have a gift reciept. I have been reading their return policy, but I'm confused. It seems they will not accept Online Only returns in store. But if I mail it to them, they credit the original payment( meaning, $50 would be transferred back to that lady's credit card, I wouldn't get any store credit) Do you think I'll be able to return it? Here's their return policy as a reference. http://www.toysrus.com/helpdesk/index.jsp?display=returns&subdisplay=retail
question about returning babyshower gifts to babies r us? i was wondering if you have to have a gift receipt to return stuff to babies r us, i had my shower yesterday and i have gotten about 50 washcloths and blankets...lol i know they came from there and i kinda dont need that many also want to return stuff that was listed on my registry that in person i dont like that much but i dont have any gift receipts!!!! for some reason i thought you dont need a receipt to return as i remember with my son but thats almost 3 yrs ago......does anyone know the deal?? thanx..........i tried to call but there was a long wait...not in the mood
Has anyone had any trouble returning something to Babies R' Us? I received an adjustable height reclining baby seat as a shower gift from Babies- R-Us. It was not on my registry and I never used it. Between the cradle swing, vibrating bouncy seat, and activity mat, we have no more floor space for any other baby seats. I never opened the box. My husband and I went up to Babies-R-us--way out of our way--to return it. All I wanted was the value put on a gift card so that I could use it to buy stuff I actually need. The customer service rep said that they do not take things back without a receipt unless it was on your registry. I said okay(thinking I would add it to my registry when I got home). She said that they were onto people adding it just to return it and not to try it. Evidently this is a policy they started in August of 2008. She suggested I take it to Target or Walmart and try to return it there. This item is exclusive to BRU only. The lady who gave it to me no longer has the receipt. Has anyone else had to deal with this crazy return policy with BRU? Any suggestions? BTW, I went ahead and added it to my registry and marked it as being purchased. I don't know if they will be able to see in the computer that I was the one who marked it as purchased.
Etiquette rules for a baby gift for former boss? My husband and I really want to do something for his old manager and his wife who are expecting their first baby. This manager was fantastic and went out of his way to help our family, but we dont have the sort of relationship where we keep in touch. We see his manager once in a while and say hello in passing. Last night while I was at work(babies r us), he and his wife came in to pick up their new crib. We talked for almost 20 minutes and he asked many questions about how our daughter was doing and was clearly interested in how we were doing. We also talked a bit about their upcoming new arrival. This manager went so above and beyond to help my husband and our family while he was working there, and we really want to do something for them. They dont have a gift registry, but I make and sell diaper cakes so we were thinking of dropping one off to him at work (left at the security desk, not interfering with work). Is it appropriate?
Best items for baby shower gift registry? My sister-in-law is finally moving out of our second bedroom (we've been letting her stay with us to go to school/save money) in mid to late June. Our baby is due 9/28...so I'm starting to think ahead to our baby shower (probably mid-August) and my gift registry. Are there any must-have items you all would suggest? I especially want answers from those who are already moms. What I would like is links to specific products (e.g. the best breast pump value or the best baby bath or swing or play pen, etc.). I'm thinking of registering mainly at Target and maybe Babies 'R Us (since they are all over the place and most of our friends and family have tight budgets right now). We live in San Mateo County in California, if you have suggestions of other stores that have inexpensive items for baby showers. Anyway, links or specific product brands and names would be most helpful!
How to use a Gift Registry? A friend of mine is expecting a baby soon and they are registered at target and babies r us, but i do not know how to buy them items using their registry. I already logged into their registry and I see a list of "items in registry". Do I buy them items from this list of items? Thanks so much for your help!
Is there anything in between Babies R' Us and overpriced baby boutiques? I am long from having a child but have gone in there several times for baby shower gifts. That place really gives me anxiety. Actually the entire culture surrounding babies really gives me anxiety and a lot of it stems from all the commercialism and convincing people they need stuff like a wipe warmer and clothing the kid won't wear untl he is two, but there it goes on your registry anyway. Also having a baby shower and asking people to buy this stuff for you really bothers me. I mean bottles and diapers and bibs, sure, but all this other stuff, I really think if you "need" a wipe warmer and other nonsense for your child you should buy it yourself! I don't plan on having a baby shower if I end up having children, unless my Mom was really heartbroken about it, I could see having just close family there. Anyway, I digress. I noticed as overwhelming as B.R.U. is, their prices are obviously lower than those upscale baby boutiques. Where have other women found affordable baby goods at a less daunting shop? What about online stores?
How many items from your baby registry did you receive at your shower? I'm trying to plan out and budget for everything we will need for the baby. I'm going to register at Target and Babies R Us but I'd like to know approximately how many of those items I can expect to receive at my shower. If you didn't receive items from your registry, did you receive gift cards/ money and gifts that were not listed on your registry?
Which are the good stored to create gift registries? I'm pregnant and would be having my baby shower in a few months. I was wondering which stores are good for creating registry. I was thinking of Target and Babies-R-Us. But I have read some bad reviews about Target return policy without gift receipts, even if it's from their registry. I cannot expect all my guests to give me the gift receipts!!!! So, are there any other good stores?
Do people generally follow a baby registry? I registered at Babies r Us for my baby shower and I am curious to know how often people really follow a baby registry to buy their shower gifts? I am curious because I have held off on buying anything until after my shower. My shower will be a surprise and I don't know when it will be and i am already 33 weeks! I would like to know how common it is people follow a registry because I am nervous I will not have the things I need when my baby gets here!
Baby Registry? Hi, I'm not sure how the baby registry thing for Babies R Us works. What if the gift I am getting on the registry is the same gift someone else is getting for my friend?
Girft Registry for 1st Birthday? My daughters 1st birthday is approching and I know I receive alot of telephone calls with family and friends not knowing what to buy her. I was thinking of doing a registry at Babies R Us or target with items that I know she can use or need. Not sure if that would make it seem like I am asking for things, which I am not...but its better than people not knowing what to get.. So what do you think about a Gift Registry for ideas??
are you getting pushed around by family a lot, now that you're expecting? My mother and sisters insisted on throwing me a baby shower. They are big into parties, but I'm a much more private person and told them in no uncertain terms that I wasn't interested. But they really wanted to and seemed to think it was important, so finally I caved, figuring how bad could it be and if they really loved the idea, why prevent them. Needless to say the guest list got out of hand and it turned into a whopping big mess. I can't bear being the center of attention of a large crowd for hours on end like that. They did the same darned thing to me at my wedding. They also insisted I create a baby gift registry. I hate stuff and live in dread of clutter. I don't think a newborn really needs that much anyway. They said, hey, how else are we supposed to know what you want. So I went through and I picked out about 20 things I could conceive of needing and made a registry at babies R us, keeping it spare and minimal. Which just about NOBODY followed. They just bought whatever - piles and piles of crap, much of it from garage sales. What is the point of having a registry if nobody sticks to it? I really feel as if nobody is respecting my wishes, and I am not a shrinking violet. I made it really clear that I didn't want this, and it's like I'm talking to a brick wall. The final straw was today. My pediatrician suggested I wait about 2 weeks after the birth to have family over to see the new baby due to the risk of infection, and also b/c I am having a c section and will need extra time to recover. My mother flatly declared that she was coming to see the baby whether I liked it or not, immediately after the birth. My family really isn't like this most of the time; the vast majority of my life with them has been tranquil and respectful (except over Christmas, which is a mess). It's only since I married and became pregnant that they decided that they would try to force themselves into our lives and dictate the details. I know they're excited about the baby but if they don't back off I am going to lose it. And YES I keep telling them this! I am very verbal about it, very firm and very polite but very, very clear about my wishes. They just don't care and I don't know what's gotten into them. It's like they think they own a piece of the baby - or me. Help!
Which infant bath tub is the best? I'm an expecting mom and trying to figure out which to put on my babies r us gift registry. I live in canada. I want to know which is the best tub for the best value. something that will hopefully last a while. plug no plug? sling no sling? fisher price? safety first? summer infant? initially I had the saftey first warm me bath on the registry but then I saw bad reviews on the babies r us website for it. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks. i should have mentioned!! i live in a basement apartment, we only have a shower stall no bathtub. so most likely i'm gonna have to use the sink!
Baby Shower - Gift Confusion? I have not attended a Baby Shower- My friend has been registered with Babies-r-us. I tried picking up a gift from that registry using the Reg# ... but found that Shipping price costs is making it expensive. Can i walk into Babies-r-us and give them the reg# and pick up the gift. Is it considered rude to take the gift in person when going to a baby shower.
should I register my baby for his first year? Hi,my baby's first year birthday will be on october 5th,we are very happy since he is going to turn one,it will be a small party with family and some friends since the economy is bad. The theme is baby einstein so I got the invitations that you write on,I was thinking in gift registry from babies r us,how do I include it on the invitation? on a separate card or just write on the invitation, and what am I supposed to write? I've never registered for anything before so I don't know,I will appreciate any help, plus best answer gets 10 pts. Thanks!
Friend's baby shower in 3 days... nothing bought off registry? Tell me this isn't the norm!? My friend's baby shower is this saturday. I'm not throwing it, someone else is. She's not a super close friend, but we're friends none the less. She told me that around 60 people were invited to her shower. Well, as soon as I was invited I went on her Babies R Us registry (the invitation had her registry info, she was only registered at BRU) and bought her a diaper bag. That was over 2 weeks ago. I just checked her registry. No one has bought anything off it, and her shower is this saturday. I feel awful. Is that the norm? My shower is in October and my guest list is currently 40 people. I've worked so hard on my registry. I went a little crazy and already bought most of my layette, and while I expect that I'll get a LOT of baby clothes as shower gifts, I was really hoping that people would shop off my registry, and then, if they really felt inclined to buy clothes, buy those in addition. My registry is 50 items, of all different prices. I was expecting at least 25 items to be bought. Now I'm freaking out. Please, in your experience, what is a normal expectation for shower gifts?
Suggestions on wording Out Of State/Long Distance Baby Shower Announcements? Looking for suggestions on what the verbiage should be on the Baby Shower Announcements to the actual gift giving. I cannot travel due to doctor's orders. Family lives in Florida, I live in Missouri. I want to send out a nice little card including a cute poem (which I have picked out) plus the proper verbiage for any gift giving that the families would like to send. Family has already said they will send money, but to be formal, I was looking for an annoucment. On the inside we will include the Baby Registry Tags from Babies R’ Us and Target. Do you have any way of wording this? I should re-phrase what I said. I am not going to personally send the announcements myself. My Aunt is sending them for me, she's looking to get ideas. Thanks.
Baby Shower - Baby Registry? Hello, I am attending a baby shower this weekend and they have emailed about a baby registry in the invite. This baby registry is in babies r us. Can you please tell me what this baby registry is? Should I login and send money or gifts... I have no clue and I want to utilize this registry if that would be useful for the newborn instead of buying some random gifts...
Who's had a bad experience with baby registry at Target? I did my baby registry at Target and just experience a horrible experience. I had my baby shower and received 2 bath tubs. So I took one back but unfortunatly I did not get a gift receipt with it. I went to exchange it for something I did not get but they did not want to take it back nor give me a store credit because it was over $20.00. I think their return policy really sucks and I will never recommend Target for a Wedding or Baby Registry. I did also register at Babies R Us and have not had one issue with them. Highly Recommend them!!!!
Is it ok to ask for baby things as gifts at my wedding? I'm getting married on August 8th. I'll be 27 weeks pregnant. We have lived together for 4 years so there really is nothing that we need for the house. My mum suggested that I set up a gift registry at Mothercare and babies r us and ask that if people would like to buy us a gift, to buy something for the baby. We aren't having a honeymoon so don't need money/travel vouchers for that. Do you think its ok to do the above? I'm in the UK where baby showers are not the norm.
How do I handle my baby registry in this situation? Me and my boyfriend moved to California from Missouri in January and are now 5 months pregnant. Our family lives back home or in other states, but I would still like to have a registry for people who want to send gifts, so I registered at Target, Babies R Us, and Wal Mart. Where do I go from here? My mom said that we should not send out announcements, but wait til people ask where I am registered at. Its my first baby so Im not sure what to do! By the way I will not be going home for a shower, but me and my Bf's immediate families are flying in after our little one arrives!
I just got my cousin's wife's baby registry list. There is nothing under $100, do you think that is rude? There is over 50 items on her registry and the cheapest one is 109.80. I don't really see them but once a year, so I was going to spend 50. I called and she said she didn't want a gift card, and that she was registered at walmart and babies r us. She told me that before I read the list and I told her okay. What should I do? She actually told her MIL,(my aunt) that she would be upset if she got the little things, because she already had that stuff.
have you ever gotten things from your baby shower that not from your baby registry? what you do when you get things that are not from baby registry? okey, My side of the family are the type of people that don't buy stuff at baby registry. they go to other places to buy stuff like the ghetto stores. I did my baby registry at target, walmart, & babies r us. there a lots of low prices of baby stuff that I put. but, they never do it. This is going to have my second baby shower and I afraid that it will happen again. I am not being selfish. but, how do you make your family understand that I only want things from baby registry without being rude. They are really bad when it comes giving gifts. My son's first b-bay party. My aunt got him a used dirty toy that had missing parts. it was embarrassing Because, My husband side of the family were laughing at the other stuff he got and friends too. How do you make your family to understand. that's the only reason I really don't invite my family to partys and don't come around my family. My mother and my sister feels the same way about it. My husband doesn't like the gifts too. He will throw them away. They are not poor, they are just cheap & ghetto. I don't know if it's LA thing or need to tell them in Spanish. Any tips?
How do I recieve my discounts after my baby shower is complete? I was told by Target and Babies 'R Us that I would get a discount off the unpurchased items on my baby registry. I received a lot of gifts, but not the ones I really need. So when should I expect that 10% discount? That is so stupid! How are we supposed to purchase things after our due dates? I bet the people who made these stupid rules were MEN!
How much is too much or too little on a baby registry? I have registered on babies r us and have been going back and forth over some items here and there. I've been going between 40-65 items (not counting multiple quantities of each item). I don't want to put too much because I'd feel greedy. Plus I'm really simplistic and don't really care about a whole lot of fru-fru. But I definitely want to have the essentials on there. Here's a general idea what I have so far. Please let me know if I should be ok. Or if there's things I should add that I haven't, or things I should take off. Thanks. clothes hangers laundry bags dishwasher basket bottles & extra nipples sheets waterproof multi use pads bibs high chair walker bouncy seat stroller car seat playard & extra sheet diapers & wipes baby bath burp cloths washcloths thermal blankets crib bumper canvas closet storage things shampoo/wash/lotion/cream/powder gift sets (I'm not puting on any clothes simply because it is both our parent's first grandchild and his mom is a major bargain shopper and I already know for a fact that we will be overrun with clothes.) Oops forgot to mention I already ordered my diaper bag... that's why one isn't on my registry.
Has anyone realized that Target has the worst return policy with Gift Registries? I tried to return some duplicate gifts from our baby shower and target said no receit no return over 20 dollars. I asked the corporate office to help me as I have 3 of some things. they said can't help but will take my comments down. wow Target doesn't istantly log your guests items in when they buy it so if two people buy the same gift on the same day you are stuck if they don't give you the receit or you don't want that person to think you are returning their gift after they took the time, money and thought to give it to you. Hell some of the people in California don't even speak English and Target does Spanish speaking interviews. How is my 70 year old relatives supposed to understand all the policies. What makes this worse is that it shows on the registry as fulfilled but target still won't return it. Funny Baby's R Us will if you don't have a receit when it states fulfilled on your registry. Commonsense right? Also Walmart takes the items back without a receit. When Walmart will return with no problem and Baby's r US will return no problem then you know where to have people register. Baby's r US has just recently changed their return policy to be harder without a receit, BUT they allow a one time exception, also if the Item is on the registry and shows fulfilled then they take it back at Baby's r US. Again the word exception. If Walmart cracks down and becomes target then I would only register at Macy's for a wedding or Nordstrom. I would also only register at Baby's R US. I think Walmart has an instant registry. Where Target waits to batch overnight and if two people buy the same day, for examply your shower day then you will get duplicates and without a gift receit you own it if it is over 20 dollars. terrible policy, as far as for fraud if it shows on the registry as fulfilled and it is on the shelf and unopened then what is the mystery??? Ballie28, as far as no receit. The items again are on my registry as FULFILLED which means they had to be purchased by someone. Once I return them then they take them off as UNFULFILLED. This is why Baby's r US gets it. They will return an item without a receit if it is on your registry as it would only make sense that someone purchased it Also is it our fault as the consumers that the stores don't invest in a better system to allow them to pull up the receit connected with the registry purchase if they are so worried about fraud?? COSTCO has a system which allows them to pull up any of your purchases from your card. Target does have a system which can pull up any purchase from your credit card so it is possible. Target should connect the registry with the purchase to keep a copy of the receit. We can shop anywhere. At least Macy's puts a sticker on the item so no receit is needed. People who gift do forget.
Question about Baby Registry Etiquette for Baby Shower? I know the general things I need to ask for, HOWEVER I need to know the etiquette that goes along with registering for baby items. This will be my first child, and I was told by a Babies 'R' Us employee that I should register for anything and everything I'm going to need to buy, because after all, the guests aren't OBLIGATED to get everything on the list. Problem is, I need to know a good age cut-off. For example, I plan on solely breastfeeding (if possible) throughout the enitre first year. Therefore, is it inappropriate for me to ask for spoons, bowls and a highchair if I plan on incorporating formula/other foods in their second year? Same with books - obviously I won't need books until the baby is a couple months old, so should I buy those, or should I ask my guests to buy them? Basically, I guess my question is this: how far out do I need to expect baby shower guests to buy gifts for the baby (ie: nothing that you'll need after 6 mos, 12 mos, etc) EDIT: Also, is there a way to write on the registry certain notes, so that everyone can be aware of things I have already purchased? (I plan on saving money by buying big things like the crib and dresser on craigslist, and I am in the process of sewing a baby blanket, and want everyone to know that I DON'T want them to buy those thinigs). Is there a way to do that?
Wording for baby shower invites (pertaining to registry), ideas needed!? I have about 70 people attending my baby shower towards the end of January 2011. I decided to go with two registry's , one with amazon.com (cheaper, no tax and free S&H over $25) and for those who do not want or cannot shop online for whatever reason I have registered at Babies R Us. The majority of items are on amazon.com and I only chose a few items that are available IN STORE at Babies R Us so they do not have to purchase online. Plus, I wouldn't mind gift cards from both places if someone doesn't feel like shopping. How would I go about wording my invites without looking like a greedy new mom. I'm just trying to make it convenient for everyone. In my circle of family and friends. we always put registry info on baby shower invites, most of my girlfriends have gotten a good 80% of what they asked for from their registry. So I need to put this info on the invites.
Did you get a lot of things from your registry at your baby shower? I registered at Target and Babys R Us and between the two stores I registered for about 150 items ranging in prices between $1-$200+ and lots of everything in between. I was very dissapointed that I only recieved about 10 items off my registry from my baby shower from my 50 guests. I got lots of gifts but nothing I really need or registered for. Did this happen to anyone else?
Anyone else have problems with Target Registry? I registered at Target for baby and now I am regretting it! I was told I can not return anything without a gift receipt, even if it was on my registry and I only want store credit! Registering is great but Target's policy doesn't allow for human error. IE: some people don't give you a gift receipt. I ended up getting two of the same gifts and no gift receipt and then you are stuck with an extra one. When I went to return it I was told I could not unless I go back and ask the person who gave me the gift for their credit card information they used to purchase the item...how rude! However, I just heard that you can return up to like $100 without a gift receipt. I haven't went back yet, I am too annoyed with Target and don't plan on fulfilling my registry if they don't help me out. Does anyone know if this $100 thing is true?? I am appreciative of the gifts I receive but I wish Target would at least allow store credit so you can get something else you need rather than get stuck with an extra gift and end up wasting someone's money! You'd think such a huge corporation like Target would at least allow store credit but they have no customer service! My advice is to register at Babies R Us, they do allow you to return without gift receipts! Thanks Chantal I will have to check that out. Oops I meant Junebug...thanks for lettting me know about the Gift Log, will look into this! But Chantal thanks for the insider info. I totally understand the scam thing but I just think that at least for registry items you should be able to get store credit. I know little old me won't get the policy changed...
I am having twins. Fist time mom. At a baby shower is it rude to not bring a gift.? I have very specific things we need, since we have nothing. I had purchased the large cost items. I have all price ranges and multiply places ( Babies r us, Target etc...). At my shower I got all clothes, a lot of clothes they can never wear either. They bought us clothes for summer but they are due in the fall. We did not receive a single item from my registry's, and many people brought nothing. So my husband and I have to still buy everything. I thought the point of having a bridal shower or baby shower was to help the new bride or mom out. I feel bad like I am being greedy, but I had helped my mom pay for and plan for this party. I feel it is better if you do buy something to at least pay attention to what you are buying. Why waste your money. I was brought up if you can't afford to buy a gift for the person even a small gift or homemade then you can't afford to go.
Free CD? I'm really confused? Okay I just got my mail and in it is a Baby Einstein CD (a full cd, not a demo). It has the packing list thingy and lists my name and address as both the Billed To and the Shipped To. I didn't order a CD! What could be going on? Do you think a company would send me a CD by mistake? Could it be a free gift because of the baby registries I'm on (Target and Babies R Us)? Do you think they'll bill me???
A giftcard and cash ONLY baby shower, Good or Bad idea? Hi, I have had 2 baby showers in my life and have not done well with them as far as gifts. Don't get me wrong people means well but some of the gifts I got were duplicates, dollar store diapers, bottles, etc, things that I just couldn't use and yes my gift registry was like nearly ignored only very few shopped the gift registry. I was thinking about putting this in the invitations No gifts please. Just Cash or Gift cards only will be highly appreciated. Target or Babies R Us preferred, Thank you! My next question would be, would this make the baby shower boring? I am sure folks wants to awe over the pretty things that are normally opened but I need for this to be beneficial to my baby so I really need to go this route. Don't get me wrong. This will be a nice shower and I won't compromise anything. I just prefer cash or gift cards to buy the things that this baby need rather then being bombarded with useless items. I won't lose this way.... Sorry guys, I do not see it as being selfish but....What is selfish is for a baby shower to be thrown spending tons of money and people purchase things that you really can't use but expect to come and eat and drink you out of a house and home.... Would you consider dollar store diapers a useful gift? That's 1 of the lousy gifts I got that could have broke my baby's backside out with bumps and blisters
Is it tacky to insert a small sheet of "suggestions" in her 1st birthday invitation? I'm sending out my daughter's 1st birthday invitations soon and I just wanted to know if it would be okay for me to type out a small note on "gifts" to include inside the invitation to help our guests. I was thinking of saying something like, "The gift of your attendance is more than appreciated, but if you feel the need to bring something special for Cait, she is wearing size 18mths and we use our Babies R Us registry as our shopping list" ... or something like that. What do you think and what would you do? I already know people are gonna wonder what to get her and what size she's wearing! Thanks!
what am I suppose to do with my baby registry? this is my first baby. anyways I registered at babies r us yesterday and were having our son in March. What do I do for people who want to get us gifts that live out of state? they gave me stickers that say registered at babies r us but what do I put them on? Do I just send those people invitations too and put the stickers on there? or do I send out something else? thanks!!
Baby registry question? ? How can I find where this person is registered? We have a colleague who is due soon. Usually at my work we Decide on a big item from the registry and go in together on a group gift. I have been checking babies r Us and target for months now with no luck. I checked amazon and myregistry.com too. She doesn't seem to be registered anywhere. We've even looked under her husband's name with no luck. Any ideas? Is there a way to type in someone's info and have it check like a registry of registries? If not, where else should I check?
Is it ok to ask for baby things as gifts at my wedding? I'm getting married on August 8th. I'll be 27 weeks pregnant. We have lived together for 4 years so there really is nothing that we need for the house. My mum suggested that I set up a gift registry at Mothercare and babies r us and ask that if people would like to buy us a gift, to buy something for the baby. We aren't having a honeymoon so don't need money/travel vouchers for that. Do you think its ok to do the above? I'm in the UK where baby showers are not the norm.
should I go to my cousins baby shower? i think she just wants a present? My cousin and I used to be like best friends. We would talk daily, hang out several times a week, and were extremely close. then she got pregnant and something changed. She...frankly...became a really nasty person. Once on facebook I posted a status whining about my husband getting on my nerves and she posted this long lecturing rant about how the state of my marriage was fragile at best and how i should aim for a marriage like hers. That entire attitude is so unlike her...I was stunned. She later said sorry, so I let it go.Well now I haven't talked to her in a month. I reach out to her, I call her, text her, fb message her, and she's messaged me back...twice maybe saying "sorry super busy". I keep thinking...busy? She don't work, she don't go to school, busy with what? Well then the other day she sent me a message saying "excited to see you at the baby shower! don't forget about the gift registry! its at babies r us". that made me think all she cares about is getting gifts. Now I don't even wanna go, but I promised her months ago I would go. What should I do?
Is it poor etiquette to buy a gift that isn't on the registry? I'm going to a baby shower this Sunday. The preggo lady is registered at Babies R Us. This is inconvenient for me because there isn't one near by me at all and I'm a poor college student. I have a gift card for a department store, so I figured I would just use that to buy a baby outfit or something. This way I can pop into a store that is convenient and not have to dip into my cash. Is that weird? Do I really have to stick to the gift registry?
Baby Shower Gift Registry Ideas! Help? Hello, I need ideas for where to get a gift registry for my baby shower. I've already gone to Babies R Us but I feel like I should offer more of a variety to choose from. I live in Canada and I'm expecting a girl :) Thanks :)
