What do you think of this baby shower gift idea for guests?

I am having a baby girl and I make jewelry. I thought for my guests at my baby shower I could make earrings for everyone. I was thinking I would buy card stock and put a saying or poem thanking my guests on it with the earrings attached. I am quite sure everyone has pierced ears. I thought a homemade thoughtful gift would be nice.

What do you think of this gift? And any ideas for a message?
