What happens to babies when they die? Do they go to heaven?

If all babies go to heaven when they die, then wouldn't you be altruistic by aborting them? If you abort a baby, you remove all chances that they will sin, thus sending them to heaven. You may go to hell, but by going to hell you ensure that all the babies you kill will go to heaven.

What are your thoughts? I know some people think you can't be saved unless you are baptized, or accept Jesus, or any number of other ways, so just imagine killing the baby or the person right after they are "good to go" for heaven.

Public Comments

1. That's exactly what that woman who drowned her kids in Texas believed.

I don't believe in souls.

2. You should not kill a baby just to get it into Heaven. Murdering babies is never ok.

3. Yeah I brought this up earlier with another Christian.

He insisted that if a baby dies, it would go to heaven.

So I suggested that we should go and mass murder all the babies.

I hate flawed logic.

4. yip they go staight to HEAVEN,all kids because all kids before they reach maturity and understanding of god are regarded believing in islam(arabic meaning for submission to god's will)

5. it depends of which flavor of christianity that determines the "correct" answer

in the bible god condones killing any child under two and was responcible for the killing of thousands of babies.

as far as god goes...thanks but no thanks

6. Lol.... that is some pretty rediculous reasoning if I ever saw any. They simply die just like adults and animals.

7. Yes.

baptism doesn't save anyone!

8. they rot like every other living thing. there is nothing special about death so make the best of what you have now.

9. Aborting a child is wrong in MOST, ALMOST ALL cases. You can not decided wither or not someone goes to heaven. If you kill that unborn child, then you are killing what God made and you have no idea if that child could have grown up and changed the world for the better. Many people baptized their childern at a very younge age. This gives the child the abitity to go to heaven if something were to happen to them (which I hope it never comes to) and gives them the start of something to believe in. When they get older they make the choice to be saved if they truly believe in God.
And I do not believe that "killing the baby or the person right after they are god to go for heaven" is right. Its wrong, you have to allow people to live and find their own belife and live life on their own.

10. They are under the age of accountability so they directly go to heaven if they die. There are some relly stupid people on here making some really inhuman comments. I really cannot believe that people can be this cruel in answering this question. Lets see how you would feel if you lost a baby or infant. And it is the same 5 stupid atheists in every question I've seen. Stop trying to shove your beliefs down peoples throats you freaking Nazis. Geez...they say Christians do that, but I do not see them on here berating a person for asking a simple question. Freaking hypocrites.

11. no1 goes to heaven! but those babys who dye b4 dey enter da world, God remembers them, and in paradise God will bring all those babies to life so wen they wuld also learn about God.

12. i think so.. they might go wherever they want to.. they might be reincarnation if they wanted too..

13. It does not matter if one is a baby or a full grown man ,the fact remains that that there is the issue of karma and other reasons its just as much a soul as any one else and is as well under the law of karma that one generate through out the past lives.On the physical plane the human being is a baby but the fact remains that their is a human soul incarnated with things to work out.Don't forget that Hitler was as well a baby.The law of karma is no respecter of persons and exact karma will prevail no matter if one is a baby or an adult.Karma is the most exact form of justice there is.This is a very sensitive topic to handle and I can understand why people would act with anger with it .Man fears and is defensive with those things that they do not understand.

14. "If all babies go to heaven when they die, then wouldn't you be altruistic by aborting them?"

I think that this is an example of flawed logic. Human beings were honored by God by being created in His image. Consider the following:

Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Psalm 8:3-5: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+8:3-5&version=NIV

Psalm 139 NIV

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Humans have always been precious to God.

Matthew 18:3
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Moderns like to consider themselves more educated & sophisticated in thinking that as life develops in the womb, it has varying degrees of value, particularly if there are any genetic defects or disabilities--& for some, no value at all other than parasitic or inconvenient. That does not hold true for God.

Exodus 4:11
The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?

I think that the problem with many modern thinkers is that they look on human life with less value under those conditions. God does not. Human life, whether created whole or with genetic problems, has the potential to glorify God--& even to overcome the world in His power.

Since we are created by Him in His image, taking that life unlawfully (& I don't mean merely by earthly legal systems but as God has deemed lawful) is murder. He alone has the power to create life--or take it because He alone is truly holy, just, & merciful. We don't have the power to give back a life after we've taken it, but He does (& there will come a day when He has indeed promised the resurrection of the those who'd passed away). Consider the following:

Exodus 20:13
http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/OTpdf/exo20.pdf

13 "You shall not murder.

Some versions of the Bible render the word "kill", but in fact, the word is "murder" from the Hebrew ????? ("ratsach" implying premeditated killing, thus, "murder" is more appropriate)

Since it's logical to conclude that one plans the death of children in the womb thru the act of abortion, it is in fact considered murder, & it is forbidden as such.

Psalm 49 NIV

7 No man can redeem the life of another
or give to God a ransom for him-

8 the ransom for a life is costly,
no payment is ever enough-

9 that he should live on forever
and not see decay.

15 But God will redeem my life [f] from the grave;
he will surely take me to himself.
Selah

"I know some people think you can't be saved unless you are baptized, or accept Jesus, or any number of other ways, so just imagine killing the baby or the person right after they are "good to go" for heaven."

Consider the following:

Luke 23

39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"

40But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."

42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[f]"

43Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

This thief is not declared to have been a believer in his life, but he trusted Christ on the cross as he hung there preparing to die. Jesus promised him that he would indeed live on in paradise. It's kind of a down-to-the-last-second trusting in Him, but it was enough. It's kind of interesting in that the Scriptures suggest that there is trust of God even in the womb:

Psalm 22

9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
you made me trust in you
even at my mother's breast.

10 From birth I was cast upon you;
from my mother's womb you have been my God.

Our lives are given purpose & meaning because of Him:

Isaiah 49 NIV

[ The Servant of the LORD ] Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.

2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,
in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
he made me into a polished arrow
and concealed me in his quiver.

3 He said to me, "You are my servant,
Israel, in whom I will display my splendor."

Our salvation is based on Christ alone--not on any works we may do to try to "earn" salvation.

Ephesians 2:1-10 NIV
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Eph%202:1-10&version=NIV

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

2 Corinthians 5
6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.

So when we are away from it, we, trusting in His promises, are in His presence.

15. actually noone goes right to heaven when they die, they are asleep in the grave awaiting the resurrection, an aborted child will probabby be in heaven though, they were an innocent victim of a crime....and they will be healthy and able to grow up, and perhaps given to a woman who wasnt able to have children, I wouldnt put it past the Lord.

16. uhhh if you kill a baby that is bad. end of story

17. Nothing happens. They just die, like everybody else.

18. All children belong to God.
They are innocent,and haven't reached the age of accountability.
A baby is the most Blessed precious gift that God can give to a person.
Abortion is murder.
It's my belief,that abortion angers God.
I also believe that America is experiencing many devastation's because of this and many other sinful lifestyles.
Examples:Earthquakes, Hurricanes,Tornado's, floods,wildfires,financial crisis,terrorism, drought, and food shortages.
