How did your babies movements in the womb relate to their activity/character as a newborn?

My little baby is super chilled I thin!. She has occasional periods of mega movements but other than that she is generally quite quiet. I am 31 weeks.
I imagine that she is going to be quite chilled when she arrives. I could be wrong! How did your babies character relate in the womb to her actual character as a newborn? Hope this makes sense?

1. If she is not that active in the womb most of the time they are quite come and suttle.

2. I hadn't thought of a connection to movement in the womb leading to how a character may be, but now that I've thought about it, it really does fit with how my son was/is. He was very active in the early hours of the morning in the womb, equally so when I had a bath or went swimming and had violent hiccups in the womb in the evenings.

Turned out he is destined to always be an early riser (usually around 5 a.m every day, but known to be as early as 4 a.m), and absolutely loves swimming but where the hiccups fit in I don't know lol. He's now 10 years old and still the same. Congrats on your pregnancy :)

3. I don't know if you really can tell a child's character but I think mothers perhaps get a sense of it.

I always thought my son was going to be cheeky and full of energy and he has been a real handful since birth.

I hope this one is going to be a bit more easy going but I have a feeling it's not. I started feeling it move very early on and it seems to be on the go non stop.

4. my first was extremely active in the womb - you'd swear he never slept in there! once born i realised that he is NEVER still. he moves when asleep too, a lot. he's now 2yrs old and beginning to stay relatively still while asleep instead of sleep-crawling or sleep-scooting which he's always done.

my second didn't move in the womb. He'd kick maybe twice in 24hrs. very scary! Once born i realised he has a very relaxed personality. He does move alot, but in slow fluid motions, not like his brother who was all speed and strength.

5. My son was extremely active: ALL THE TIME!! He would kick and move pretty much every 5 minutes. I thought I had a soccer player or a boxer in there!

My son is now 7 months, and he is exactly how he was in the womb!! He takes very short naps and has been sitting up, crawling and standing up for a while now! So, he's developing quite fast!

I can't tell you if it always works out like this, but it my case, it did!

6. My babies were the opposite of what they were like in the womb. My first was a quiet baby... regularly scaring me because he didn't move for days on end! When he came out though, woooweee, he made up for it. He's 3 now, and NEVER, EVER stops moving. Even in his sleep he keeps going. How that kid gets any rest is beyond me. Even as a newborn, he'd wiggle out of his swaddle and start kicking and punching like mad. He was in a hurry to get going and start moving too... turning from back to tummy at 6 weeks, crawling at 5 months walking at 11 months.

My second was very busy in the womb. He kicked me to pieces. He came out chilled and relax. He loved his swaddle and being closely cuddled (my first hated being restricted in any way, even when I cuddled him). He's 5 months old now, and unlike his brother who still woke up every 2 hours at that age, he's down to twice a night... and he'll go right back to sleep (again, unlike his brother who wanted to stay up and play!). This baby is not in such a hurry to get going. He moves, but he's not too fussed by learning stuff like how to roll over and crawl... instead he wants to talk. He's been babbling since 6 weeks, and at 5 months now just figured out how to say ma-ma... my oldest didn't say a word, babble or otherwise, until he was 9 months old.

Complete opposites those two... before and after birth.

7. I always wonder of there's a correlation between how they are on the inside vs. how they are on the outside.

My son: Some days he would hardly move at all. But when he did move, he was explosive! It felt like he was running in place. His movements would literally shake the bed! My husband could be a foot from me, and feel that he was moving. Crazy. Now, he's 3 and does not stop moving. He's insanely good at physical skills: running, jumping, climbing. Very much a daredevil, and not one bit laid back. I was expecting someone laid back, based on the days that he rarely moved, but go figure. He was also a very difficult newborn. Extremely fussy. But that wasn't all his fault. He had meningitis when he was a week old, and suffered from pretty bad reflux. Even still, when he felt good, he wasn't laid back. But, he's very sweet, and loaded with personality - very funny little kid

My daughter: (who was just born 3 weeks ago) was always moving. I never had to worry about her lack of movement. But she always moved like she was just trying to get comfortable. She does the same sort of thing now - she has trouble finding a comfy position. I was pretty pumped [when I was pregnant] though, because she would stop moving every evening around 11 and stay still until 5 am. I thought I would have a great sleeper! Well, maybe that's the case when she's getting her nutrition automatically. And maybe she will be one day. She has been pretty content (knock on wood!) and even started smiling at 2 weeks. I prayed hard that she would be happy, healthy and content. Here's hoping! I think she'll be a busy little girl, when she's older. But maybe, hopefully, not as crazy as her big brother :)

Good luck to you!!

8. Both of my girls moved alot in utero, especially my second. My first - I felt bigger movements but less frequent. she is pretty laid back, has tantrums occasionally (she's 3 and a half).

My second was all over the place constantly. In the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy, I had 4 ultarsounds due to some potential complications. Every ultrasound, and every prenatal appointment, she was in a different position - sometimes she was face-up, sometimes she was face-down, she was breach for the longest time. And yes, her in-utero movement correlates to her personality. She is incredibly active, never stops moving. She has to go go go all the time.

9. My son never stopped moving around. Starting at 16 weeks pregnant (I would feel little twitches all day.) up until I delivered. Once born, everyone who held him would say "Man, he moves alot!". LOL He was really squirmy in and out of the womb!
But it didn't last long. He got really lazy eventually. He only crawled at 10 months, and at 16 months he is just starting to walk! LOL

10. When I was pregnant with my daughter, she would kick and punch like crazy in there. She also had hiccups all the time. I would say that within the course of a day, she would have the hiccups at least 4 or 5 times. At the ultrasound I had done at 21 weeks, she would not stop wiggling around, and they got pictures of her sucking her thumb. It was so cute. Her movement never messed with my sleep pattern though because it was like she knew that mommy was going to bed so it's time to go sleepy too.

She is an energetic little girl. She definitely enjoys playing with anything and everything. She's never really had a grumpy day aside from when she's sick. She's a hand eater. She still gets hiccups probably about every other day. Morgan is such a little goofball. I love it.

11. my son kicked me all the time, sometimes to the point that it hurt. it looked like an alien was trying to come out of my stomach, now he is 5 months and those little legs go crazy! when hes in a jumper, im scared its going to break bc he has that thing going crazy. he was able to stand and put weight on his legs at 1 week, of course while i held him. he wants to stand all the time. i have a feeling im going to have my hands full with him lol.

12. My little girl kicked loads when she was inside me and she still does! especially when being changed! haha. I think it must have strengthened her leg muscles because they're surprisingly strong.
Also, she used to always be quiet in the bath when i was pregnant and now shes out its the only time shes quiet haha. she loves a bath :D
good luck with the pregnancy :)
I hope she is chilled :P
