What baby bottle is best recommended for a baby who also is breastfed?
I've been doing some research and there are a few bottles that i have in mind but out of the bunch i wouldn't know which one is by far best. I'm looking for a bottle in which it wont cause to much nipple confusion to my baby, i breastfeed and i now plan on getting her started onto the bottle. She is only 3 weeks old, but the circumstances force me to start her on the bottle earlier than expected. (Work etc.)
Any recommendations?

1. I use the Playtex ventaire with the like-breast nipples. We had to give her a bottle the second night in the hospital because we couldn't get her to latch and her glucose levels dropped. I still continue to breastfeed now that we are home. We have never had an issue with nipple confusion. My sister also used these bottles when she switched to bottle feeding as well.
2. There is no one 'best' bottle. It's just a matter of experimenting and patience to find one that your baby will take and that works well for you.
(Contrary to myth and advertising fluff, there are no bottles that are 'just like the breast.')
3. There is a brand called BreastFlow. Check it out at walmart.com. They are formed in a special way for breastfed babies.
4. There is no bottle or nipple that is more or less like breastfeeding, nor has any been shown to lessen nipple confusion or preference. If you want your baby to continue to breastfeed well, have *someone else* offer the bottle while you are out of the room or out of the house. When you return to work (which I will assume will be in a week or two, because you are starting the bottle now) allow the care givers to bottle feed, but always breastfeed yourself when you are available.
There is little true research on bottles or nipples, especially for a breastfed baby. But there is lots of marketing, which is designed to make you think one is better than the other. Don't fall for it.
5. The playtex drop ins worked best for my daughter. We introduced an occasional bottle around 3 weeks old and she had no nipple confusion problems. You can also buy the playtex breast milk storage it so you can pump directly into the playtex liners and freeze them so you don't have to worry about breast milk storage bags or containers.
6. I don't know which is specifically best for a breastfed baby but we use and LOVE Dr. Brown bottles. They are slow flow and don't create as much air. Sorry you have to return to work so soon :( Good luck!
