How old does baby fish have to be to turn them loose in the tank?
I have baby dalmation mollys in with a bunch of other baby fish. They are 2 months or maybe a little less younger. How old does baby fish have to be to turn them loose in the tank?

1. Old isn't really the question. It is a question of size. If you are turning them out with the adults make sure the adults cannot get their mouths around them or you will not have babies anymore. As long as they cannot be eaten they are ready to go into the big boys tank.
2. large enough for them to not fit in the other fish's mouths.
Sometimes you can raise the fry in the community tank right away if you have plenty of live plants like Java fern, for them to hide in (if you don't mind losing a few here and there)
3. 2 to 4 months.
Though time won't matter, if they are still to small. They need to be big enough that none of the other fish in the tank will eat them.
4. They have to be too big to be lunch for the fish in your tank.
5. it does not matter the age it matters the size. They have to be bigger then the mollies mouth or the adults will eat them!
6. Hi!
If your tank is only with mollies, then two months is more than enough- they are ready at 1.5! But if the other fish in the tank, I would research the different breeds in your tank and then find out how long you have to wait. But don't do anything until you've found out! Here is a top-notch site that is good for that.
