How to make baby parrotlet not aggressive with conure?

I am thinking of adopting a baby parrotlet, or maybe the parents. But the baby has a chance of getting along with my conure. I would never put the adults with my conure though. So what would I do to introduce them safely? I don't care if they're best friends, but I want the cages next to each other so the parrotlet can't be so aggressive he'll fly to the conure cage to attack her. The baby's wings will be clipped once he learns to fly. He's not weaned yet.

1. He still will probably attack your conure. Don't ever let them out together.

2. Please make sure that you quarantine the new addition(s) for at LEAST 30 days before introducing them to the same room - you don't want your conure to get ill, and birds can often harbour infections without appearing to be sick at all.

Once quarantine is over, gradually move the parrotlet(s) cage closer to your conures, and carefully observer their reaction. I would expect a natural curiosity about each other, but if either bird seems threatened, back the cages off a bit and try to get them a little closer the following day.

I really wouldn't expect too many problems if they are gradually and carefully introduced. I'd think that your conure, being the existing bird, may be more likely to react badly - some birds can become very jealous of new additions to the flock! However, if you take care to ensure that there are no undue jealousy issues, and make sure that you introduce them at a rate comfortable to all, then you should have no problems. Conures and parrotlets can often get along together just fine.

Here's a very sweet YouTube clip of a Sun conure and a parrotlet preening each other, and engaging in a little play-fighting (they're just having fun - all birds will squabble a bit at SOME point!)
