What sedan holds a rear-facing infant car seat without having to move the seats forward?

I'm looking to find a four-door car that holds an infant car-seat with the front seats all the way back. I have an '06 PT Cruiser and I have to move the seats almost all the way forward to put in the car seat. I am looking for a 2005 model or newer that gets better gas mileage than my car now (23 mpg). Thanks for the help!

1. Have you tried looking for a different car seat? That's obviously going to be a lot less expensive than a new car! When we were looking for a convertible seat my husband was able to take floor models outside to fit in our car to see which worked best. We have a Pontiac G6 and were able to fit an Evenflo Titan Elite in the backseat(rear facing) just fine. My husband is 6'5 so he needs the seats back as far as possible and there weren't any issues with that.

2. I had a 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V that I just traded in for a 2010 model. Love it. Car seat fits in it with no problem and I don't have to adjust anything. It gets about 35mpg highway/ 30mpg city.

3. We have a 2009 Lancer 4 door Sedan and both my sons infant seat and convertable seat both fit in the backseat wihtout having to move the front seats.

4. I have the same Problem. I just sold my car because of it and because it was two doors. Now were looking at a Ford Escape,Honda CR-V etc. We have a Graco infant seat and we have to move the seats forward. Even when we drove in my mother Chrysler town and country, we had to move her seat forward.

5. I honestly don't know of ANY rear facing car seat that would allow the passenger seat to be all the way back, but almost all of them will allow the passenger seat to be a comfortable distance back. I had a True Fit convertible seat in my 4 door Toyota Corolla (2009, and my moms 2003) with the passenger seat in a comfortable position for me (I'm 5'4") and for my dad (5'11"). We both had plenty of room and the car seat fit perfect. :)

Without the car seat, the passenger seat could go back another couple of inches, I'm sure. But we all fit just fine...

6. It is cheaper to get a new car seat instead of a new car, but if you were looking to get a new car anyway...
I have a '05 Ford Five Hundred, renamed Taurus for the '08 model and still is called the Taurus. I have an Evenflo Triumph Advance and a Radian Premier behind the front seats. The Radian does touch, but that seat does allow bracing as long as it's properly installed without bracing. Before the Radian was put in I had a Evenflo Embrace infant car seat, with that I had to have the seat moved up because it needed the room for the handle to go down.
As for my car we get around 600kms/tank of gas highway. It's a full size car and I can sit my butt in between car seats in the back somewhat comfortably. The only downside to the car is the fact that it has 17" tires and they aren't cheap, heck they're bigger tires than some trucks.

7. Hello!

First - for an infant seat - you'll want to look at one that can allow the handle to stay up during travel. This will add many inches of space. You should easily be able to get an infant seat comfortably in a PT cruiser.

The center will give you a bit more space as well.

I would look at the Graco Snugride, chicco keyfit, and the safety 1st On board 35 - all of these seat sallow the handle up. Seats to avoid - all evenflo seats, learning Curve's seat, baby trend.
