How do I get my infant to wear a bike helmet?
I have an infant and no car. By myself I get around just fine on city buses biking and walking. Unfortunately, my infant won't wear the helmet so I can't take her on my bike. Any ideas on how I can get her to wear the helmet so we can take a bike ride together?

1. just keep trying to get her to wear it, even wearing it around the house, and wear yours inside as well to set the example
make sure hers is adjusted well so it is comfortable
2. "Won't ?" Adjust the helmet and snap it on. I don't think she's going to remove it.
3. It's a bit silly you'd have to convince an 'infant' to wear a helmet or not. As you're calling her an infant I expect she's quite young. If she's carried on your bicycle, you decide for her though. You can tell her why she should wear a helmet, but just put your foot down as well. Would you allow an adult to ride pillion on your motorbike without a helmet, or give them a lift in your car without insisting they wear a seat belt?
4. You have to get her to wear the helmet for incrementally longer lengths of time in order to get her to wear the helmet. You need to have her wear the helmet around doing normal things that are not getting put on the bike seat / put in the trailer / getting put somewhere where she feels confined / etc., so you can ease her into wearing the helmet. My wife and I always put our helmets on first.
My daughter is just getting large enough that the helmet will stay on without inching down into her face. We haven't done long rides, but she's getting used to riding around. She's been tolerating the exercises for increasingly longer periods of time. We'll see how it goes. She hates her Burley trailer right now, but I just think she needs to get a little bigger for it to be more comfortable. She doesn't seem to mind the mounted seat as much, but I know that as she gets heavier, it will be safer to have her in the trailer.
Good luck!
