When did your newborn start responding to you?

I was just curious on other mom's experienced with there newborn.
My daughter starts talking in baby language a-lot when i talk to her and she's 10 weeks now.

1. My daughter is 10.5 weeks lol and she's doing this a lot too - as well as following me with her eyes as I come in and out of the room if she's in her crib for example. I can't get her to focus on a toy yet though..

Anyway that's a great start and a great sign that she's responding when you talk to her! Keep it up! :)

2. My baby seemed to respond to my voice and was cooing back to me at about 5-6 weeks. She's 9 weeks now and such a joy. She responds whenever I pause in talking and gives the sweetest smile!

3. about five weeks..smiles and coos

4. i noticed after 6-8 weeks she was alot more interactive, started smiling and cooing which was nice. now shes 12 weeks shell talk jibberish to me for ages and sometimes giggles and its sooo cute! she also is proper into everything now and grabbing stuff and when she wakes up in the night and i go and see her to give her bottle she will smile at me and laugh even tho i dont say anythng, jsut when she sees me its really nice :)

5. My little boy was about 9 weeks old,
He started babbling and laughing at his barney light,
He also started to undertand his name a little I think

Cooing and smiling was alot earlier, arond 4-5weeks
