When did your newborn start drinking more than 2 oz at a time and be able to go more than every 2 to 3 hrs?

I have another child so I have raised one before but just can't remember. When does a newborn start eating more than 2 oz at a time and can go more than 2 hours without eating? Also, when did your baby stop sleeping a lot during the day - I know it will be for a while. Did you have your baby sleep in their bed during the day or out of their room?

1. my little one is 8 days old and now takes 3-4 oz every 3-4 hours! its sometime until they go longer between feeds! she also still sleeps alot but thats normal this early on! some babies take more oz quicker than others and some just prefer little amounts more often! they usually stay awak more during the day around 2 months + but again all babies are different! ive always had them sleep in their basket during the day in the lounge! ist just eprsonal preference really!

2. It really depends on the baby and they will change their eating habits often. My little girl is 6 weeks old today. At about 4 weeks she was taking 4 oz bottles every 4 hours. Now she has changed it to 2-3 oz bottles every 2-3 hours. As for sleeping...it goes by the day. Some days she is up most of the day and other days she likes to sleep. She sometimes sleeps in her crib, or if I' watching a tv show I will let her sleep on the couch (I'm right there and she cant roll yet) or in her swing or propped up in her boppy pillow or I will hold her. I dont like to put her in her crib during the day if I can avoid it.
