What is the biggest change in a newborn between 5 and 6 weeks?
Just wondering what I could be looking for as far as a change in my newborn.....I know all newborns are different, but what changes could happen around this time? She is already holding her head up for 20+ seconds at a time and sometimes follows me with her eyes...

1. You may get an occasional smile now that doesn't involve gas! That was the best ever! When they are little they don't do much so you are soooo excited when they finally do.
2. My baby just turned 6 weeks on Sunday. She's had her most noticeable changes yet between 5 and 6 weeks. She's starting to smile, laugh and be much more expressive. She has expressions of surprise, anticipation, dislike and satisfaction.
She's beginning to reach for the toys on her mobile and play mat, but not often.
She's also becoming much more 'verbal'. Lots of different noises, versus just crying or not crying! When she's in her swing and on the mat she'll "talk" to her friends.
This is the best week yet! I'm so excited by all the changes.
3. Smiling! and it is the most beautiful thing
4. My son smiled for the 1st time when he was 5 1/2 weeks old (for the first time it wasn't gas anyways)
