How long does a newborn go between feedings?
My son is 3 days old. Should I let him sleep until he wakes up and is ready to eat, or how often should I wake him up to feed him? He is on enfamil newborn.

1. Honestly, being that young, I would wake him up to feed him. Chances are, he lost some of his birth weight and will need nutrients from those last night feedings to help him gain it back. My ped said basically once a baby is back up to birth weight, you can cut out some night feedings but to still feed on cue. So if your baby skips a 12am feeding and wants to eat at 2am, that's fine after he's back up to birth weight. I'd wake him up every 2-3 hours until he's back up to birth weight. Congrats on the new baby!
2. Wake him up and make him eat every two to three hours . He needs to get fat .
3. I would feed him at least every 3 hours, even if that means you have to wake him up to feed him.
4. I'd try every 2-3 hours, 24 hours a day. Set that alarm. I was told 2 hours when my son was that old, but found 3 was his natural rhythm.
5. when my daughter was a newborn the doctor told me to feed her every 2-3 hours I beleive.
6. yes wake him up to feed
