What size of an outfit did your newborn come home from the hospital in?
When my son was born at 7lb 6oz, the 0-3 size outfit I'd bought him was way too big and we had to use a newborn outfit instead. But I was so disappointed that he couldn't wear the outfit I'd chosen for the occasion.
So, I ordered a newborn outfit online for the upcoming birth of my little girl. It arrived today and I love it, but it looks really tiny. I wonder if it'll be too small? I guess I'll pick out a 0-3 outfit I love, too, for a backup.

1. My sister used a newborn outfit when she brought her baby home, he was 6lbs 14oz and 18.5 inches long. Premie outfits were way too small but 0-3 mons were too large. Newborn outfits should work for the first few weeks I would think - unless you end up having a larger baby this time!
2. My oldest came home in a preemie outfit (he was 7lbs 3oz- don't know why/how he fit into a preemie outfit).
My little one came home in a newborn outfit (he was 10lbs 8oz), but he outgrew that outfit within a week.
3. It'll probably fit her... they're still all curled up when they're that new.
4. i got told i was having a 9pounder. so i bought all 0-3mos. she came out a perfect 7lb 11oz and everything was too big. the first baby grow she wore was far too big and i had to get my mum to go out and get her newborn size.

5. my daughter was born at 9.5 lbs so we had to put her in a 0-3 month outfit. I would def. take a back up just incase. Every baby is different. Congrats on your new bundle of joy.
6. My little guy wore a 0-3 month outfit home but it was big on him lol His daddy picked it out so we just let him wear it anyways haha Just take a 0-3 month outfit and a newborn outfit. my friend just had a 9lb babyboy a week and a half early and he definitely could NOT fit into a newborn outfit lol
7. Newborn size or 0-3 months.
8. my little girl came home in a premie outfit... she was 6lbs 5oz. she only fit in premie the 1st week or 2 then moved up to the newborn size. if i were you id pick out a premie outfit as well. little girls are usually pretty small and i think premie or newborn will be the size you end up needing.
9. Ok first off theres not much size dif between newborn and 0-3months......brands change the size up.........If you want just a special outfit to wear just for thaqt occasion or maybe even the first 2-4 weeks you can purchase a preemie I did it w/ 3 of mine and it worked beautifully, as long as your not expecting like 9lb baby!
10. My daughter came home in a newborn outfit but it was huge! She wore preemie outfits for about a month (5 lbs 8 oz).
11. i did the same thing, i pick out this really cute outfit for 0-3 months and when i put on my little guy he was swimming in it. he was 7lbs 3 oz. 22 long... i was dissappointed cause it was really really cute. i ended up taking him home in a long sleve jumper.... he was still absolutely the most adorable baby going home to me however i to had to go out and buy newborn outfits and some premie onesies(sp) for like the first couple weeks. i think most babies don't fit into the 0-3 for a couple of weeks... also babies lose weight after being born and then gain it back within the first week so i think that has something do with why the clothes don't fit right. congrads on your little girl, i wish you the best and hope she fits into your picked out outfit....
12. Sounds like you have a good plan. You won't know what fits till your baby is born. I brougth my daughter home in a gown. It looked so cute when I picked it out. But it was WAY too big for her. Take both outfits!
13. better safe than sorry!
but i think if your baby is around the same size as ur son when he was born it should fit but different clothes designers=different sizes sometimes.....so deffiently have back-up;;
i hope ur cute newborn outfit you got fits.
congrats with with ur expecting baby girl and best of luck!!!
=)
14. My son was 7 pounds 1 ounce and he wore a newborn size outfit.
15. I bought a newborn outfit thinking "this will probably be too small" but I took it anyway as well as a 0-3 month outfit. BOTH were way too big on him. Poor thing got lost in his newborn outfit. He was 7lbs 0 oz and was 21 inches long. Stick with the newborn outfit. It'll be fine unless the doctor tells you you are going to have 10 lb baby
16. i found that, just like adult clothes, all baby clothing brands fit diffeently.... when brought home my baby 6lb 7oz 19in, fit premie, newborn and some 0-3mos clothing... shs about 9 lbs now and still fits some newborn stuff, most of her -3mos stuff and the odd 3-6mos thing.... clothes are so hit and miss
17. My oldest was a preemie, 6lbs, 1oz, and my mom had to rush out and buy him a new outfit. B/c of that, when our 2nd was born, I brought a preemie, newborn, and size 0-3. He ended up wearing the newborn size outfit (my favorite one). He was 8lbs, 2oz.
18. He was 8 lbs, 3 oz, and wore one of those old fashioned little flannel nighties, with the pintucked yoke (it was winter) - so it was newborn. Gosh, he looked SO cute!
19. my son was born 7lbs 3oz and came home in a newborn size sleeper. it was too big for him though. but he wore it anyways with a little sweater overtop and a toque and blanket (born in December)
20. My baby was 7lb 10oz and a newborn size was roomy for the first week. 0-3 was huge. I think we transitioned to 0-3 when she was about a month old.
21. my baby came home in preemie shes 5 weeks still in preemie she weighed 6lbs 10oz at birth shes 8lbs 7 oz now and shes still in themthey fit her just right new born is way to big on her she so narrow and long maybe thats the reason
