How long to babies wear newborn size clothing?

My daughter is due tomorrow, and one of my best friends bought the cutest little Halloween costume for her. However, it's newborn size. Will she probably still fit into it by Halloween?

1. Depends on her weight - she should be fine if she is under about 8lbs at Halloween. My twins were born at 5 pounds 1 ounce and 5 pounds 4 ounces - it has been 6 weeks and they are just starting to outgrow their newborn stuff.

2. I would imagine so. My daughter was 7lb3oz and wore newborn for 1 month. If you have any idea of how much she is going to weigh (from ultrasounds and such) she probably can wear until at least 10 lbs or so. Or you can always have your baby and if you dont think so take it back maybe. My 2yr old is going to be tigger and my 9month old is going to be Pooh. Congratulations on the pregnancy and I hope everything works out well when you have your little girl!

3. she probably will, my son was 8lbs and fit into newborn sizes until he was 4 weeks...but all babies are different so all you can do is wait and see:)

4. It really depends on how large your baby is at birth and how much she grows between now and the end of the month. My son was 7 lbs. 6oz. at birth and wore newborn clothing for the first month of his life. At 4 months he's wearing 6-9 month clothing....

5. It depends on the baby's weight and growth rate, but most babies are done with newborn clothing in about a month.

6. It depends on the size of the baby, but Halloween is not far off. Average sized babies will probably wear that size for three months. Smaller babies, a little longer, Larger babies, not quite that long. Either way, unless she's a giant baby, it will fit on Halloween.

7. My daughter (who was 6 lbs. 2 oz. when born) wore newborn clothing until she was 2 months old. I'm sure your daughter will fit into the costume just fine.

8. I would hope so unless she comes out bigger than the average newborn or gains a dramatic amount of weight in 4 weeks.

9. yeah, she should be able to wear it. Newborn lose a tiny bit of weight after they are born then they start packing on the pounds. I wouldn't buy alot of newborn sized clothes, maybe just a couple of comfy sleepers. Congrats!!!

10. My son was born 6 pound 8 oz and was in newborns until about 5 weeks old
He then went into 000 and he was in them util a 11 weeks

He just changed to 00 a few days ago and he will be 12 weeks on saturday
Though that is his all in ones

For two piece sets he is still in newborns and 000 and they are very roomy

13. Probably will be okay. My daughter weighed 8.5 when she was born and wore newborn sizes up until about 6 weeks, then she shot right through 0-3 months! But, I did find that Gerber sizes ran a little small so I made sure she wore those first. I bet it will still fit her.

14. Probably, It also depends on the brand, their sizes differ so much it's amazing !!! My daughter wore some newborn size clothes till she was almost 2 months old . Hope it fits :)

15. probably; as long as she is avg size and shape; my four mo old can still get into some of her nb clothes that don't have legs...she has long legs...they are getting snug on her now though..LOL; she is swallowed by the next size onesie though...healthy and petite
