How do I get my newborn to fall asleep during the day?

My newborn is seven weeks old, she does not sleep at all during the day. Maybe just a ten minute nap during the day THATS ALL. Then at night around 9ish or 10ish she goes to bed, she has always been a good sleeper at night. She sleeps a good four hours then I have to get up to feed. I only get up twice during the night to feed her. But why does she not nap during the day? She yawns all during the day, and she looks like she is closing her eyes but she is faking it. How do I get her to take at least a few naps instead of one or none at all??

1. good for you that she sleeps at night
try to take her into a dark quite room in the day time after her feed

2. Play soft music and remove all noisy toys and rock her.

3. try making her bottle warm, not hott, just warm, rock her and hold her very close, try to hum os sing to her. just rock her for a bit in you arms, take a break for an hour and watch some tv. You need your rest and it should help get her some sleep too.

4. dark and cool room, warm milk and sing.......
never leave its side just in case, before going to bed give him(or her )a bath with warm water.........

good luck...:)

5. Try wearing her in a wrap style carrier and go for a walk....nurse her and rock in the rocking chair..or better yet nurse in the wrap while walking...i would say that as long as she isn't cranky because she is tired then i'm not sure i would screw around with her natural cycle. you have it good if she is in a good mood..imagine trying to get a cranky baby to take a nap 2 or three times a day

6. maybe you should try making her room darker, to kinda simulate night time. hang darker curtains, use a night light and the whole shebang. lay her down or even rock her to sleep in there. hope that helps! good luck!

7. My daughter would never sleep during the day due to the activity around her. Eliminate that noise/activity.
The other thing I did, since my wife and I worked different shifts was to play her one song every night to go to sleep to. I gave her daycare center the same song to play for nappytime. It became so familiar that the child would fall asleep anytime she heard the song. All either of us had to do was to hum or sing the song and it was bye-bye.

8. Can you sing try warm milk, soft singing, and rocking that always made me fall asleep!! NO MEDICATION FOR IT TO FALL ASLEEP THAT IS MEAN AND STUPID!!!!!

9. your baby is doing fine. you can not force it to sleep at day time. eventually she will as it is part of her adjustment period. and thats not all that, wait till she grows a little more and you get tired of waking at dawn feeding her and changing the diapers. more so, she would like to be carried to sleep.

10. One thing you need to remember, whatever you do don't get her in the habit of napping after 4, I am a mom of 3, Have you tried rocking her in her carseat? Or a swing works good too. Or you could try a bath then feeding maybe, I hope I helped you some.

11. I don't have any advice. I wish I did,my first child did the same and it took along time to before he would nap during the day. Sorry to say. But do NOT give any MEDICINE at this age unless your DR. OKS it. I agree it is wrong and could be harmful. Shame on you Jeremiah for giving such advice BAD ADVICE..
