How many diapers does a newborn go through a day?
I am trying to stock up on diapers before my baby boy gets here, but I don't want to buy too many. Could someone please tell me how many diapers the typical newborn goes through in a day? Also, does the number of diapers per day go up or down as they get a little older. Thanks for your help!

1. allow for 12/13 a day as bub needs changing in night feeds usually. well i did anyways
2. i just read 250 a month don't no never counted
3. Between 8-12 a day. You should get a pack or two of newborn size and then several of the next size up for the first weeks. Usually the amount they use goes down as they get older.
4. I would say anywhere from 8 to 15 , just depends.
5. they tipically go through about 8-10 a day and yes it does go down as they get older. but dont buy to many diapers of the same size because they outgrow them fast the first couple of months. good luck !
6. depends on your baby you might get the baby that wets or dirty about 6 a day or you might have a human water hose and use 15 diapers a day.
7. I'm thinking it was somewhere in the neighborhood of ten, but it's been a lot of years since my kids were newborns, so I might not be remembering accurately. I do know it was a surprisingly large number.
I wouldn't buy too many, though - babies grow really fast and the newborn size probably won't fit for very long.
The number definitely goes down as the child ages.
8. About 8-10 a day. Don't buy too many of any certain size b/c they grow so fast! I bought a 236-pkg of Costco size 1-2, and I had to give away over 150 of them! The older babies get, the less diapers they go through.
9. 8 to 10 a day and as they get older it does go down quite a bit.
10. i would say anywhere from 10 to 15 but dont buy to many new born diapers because your baby may not where them for long as they grow fast in early months my oldest son was 10lbs 6oz at birth and i didnt ever use newborn diapers on him he went strait to size 1, but most places will exchange unopened packages for a bigger size
11. Don't buy too many of one size. They generally don't use the newborn size for more than a month or so. With my son, we bought one case of newborn (Sam's Club) plus one extra pack and made it through the first 6 weeks with half a pack left.
They generally wear size 1's for a few months so if you are going to stock up, it's your best bet to stock up on those more than the newborn sizes.
12. they use about 8-12 a day at first, but i do not recommend stocking up on diapers until you have your child. they may never be small enough for newborn size...and, you may not like the brand of diapers you buy. i like pampers swaddlers the best for my child, but tried both huggies and luvs because they were cheaper...i ended up donating those diapers to a shelter because they didn't fit my child correctly and his skin was too sensitive for anything besides the swaddlers. the hospital provides everything you need for your first days and will send you home with enough diapers to get you through your first day or so until you figure out what kind you like and can get to a store. i would stock up on coupons and sign up for online coupons and promotions in the meantime so that you are ready to shop when the time comes. best of luck and enjoy your little one!!!
13. my baby is 7wks a girl & uses between 8-10 a day she's breast feed. but as long as they get 2 stools a day & i think its 4 wet diapers thats fine my doc said sum babies go rite after they eat or sum dont go at all 4 a few days if breast feed it just depends
14. When we used disposables, we consistently went through about one of the regular size packs a week. The bigger sizes have fewer diapers in them. So our rule of thumb was four packs a month for whatever size she was in.
15. I just had a baby. She is one week old. Newborn diapers go up to 8 pounds. Depends if you bottle feeding or breastfeeding. I am breastfeeding my baby girl. I had started out with two packages of pampers swandlers newborn. The amount in the bag is 40. I almost going through two packages of newborn diapers. And she weight 7 lbs and 13 oz has last time I know it. She poops more then 3 times a day. And I change her one during the night at times she poops. I might be changing her more then other mothers might be because she had yeast infection. Changing her more seem to be helping to get rid of it. I would start with two or three packages of newborn diapers. I know newborn diapers are little big on my daughter right now.
16. I would only buy one pack of newborn diapers before your baby is born, if I was you. You never know how big your baby will really be until he or she gets here. We ended up having to buy a couple of packs of preemies because our daughter was so skinny. Then she was in newborns for about a month. Stock up on size one and two. They go through different amounts. Some babies go through a lot more than others. I think our daughter goes through anywhere from like 5 or 6 to 12 a day. It just depends on the baby. You can always get another pack of newborn diapers later if your baby stays in them for a while, but it's better to only get one pack to start off with so that you don't waste your money. Some babies are born bigger than newborn diapers and go straight into size 1.
