How to get toddler to sleep with a new baby in the house?

My toddler is now waking up every couple hours since we brought home the baby. When she wakes up she wants me. It seems like it is getting worse instead of better. What do I do?

1. This generally happens when a new child is brought in the house as a young child there self.
Make sure you have Mommy time with your eldest and Daddy time with the eldest so they know that you still love them.
You may show them and tell thme as much as you can but the mind in a child will only accept that if shown 100% at one time or another.
It will be okay. Just take her out for grocery shopping and have her be in charge of something like the list and checking everything is in the cart. Give her a prize after and have her Dad take her to the park to play. Little things throughout a couple weeks will definently help. Good luck!

2. I guess it all depends on how she used to sleep before baby comes. just try and follow the same routine you used before baby 2 arrived.

3. That's what toddlers will do. I think you should give her attention and show her that you love her. But at night make sure she knows it is time to sleep. If she wakes up just let her go back to sleep on her own. A new baby is a HUGE change for everyone, especially the toddler big sister/brother. My son was the same way when we had my daughter. He was 1 1/2 when she was born and he would cry every time she did. All the bigger sibling knows is that there is some strange little person taking away their attention. The best advice I can give you for sleep time is to start a routine. Bath, story, bedtime. Or something all starting at the same time. You may not have a set schedule with the new baby but as long as your daughter feels secure in her schedule things should get better soon. Good Luck!
