What age did your toddler stop taking naps during the day?
My son is nearly 18 months old now, for the past few weeks he hasn't wanted to have a nap during the day (well only on the odd few days).
This seems was quite an early age to grow out of naps, what age was your toddler when they stopped?
Thanks

1. I never let the kids I babysat not have a nap until they were 5.
Because right around 4pm every day they'd all get cranky.
I don't care if they just lay there and sit for an hour or so, but they have to be in there, in bed, laying down.
2. my son will be two soon and still takes a nap during the day if he does not take one then he is horrible to deal with
3. it varies some stop early others continue to have naps even at 5 yrs! my son is almost 3 and my daughter 22 months and they both still have an afternoon nap! if he wants it lethim have one if he doesnt hen dont! he'll elt you know if he needs one!
4. My son is 29 months old now, but he stopped taking naps at age 2. After that he really didn't need them anymore, But usually I know the parent puts the kid to nap cause they want time for themselves. I don't know, but that's just me. Hope this helps.
5. its normal for toddlers not to want to take a nap at all cuz they are afraid they'll miss somthing interesting while they are asleep.
problem is this can make them quite miserable for the rest of the day.
my niece is 16 months old and she still takes a nap from 10am-12pm and then from about 4pm-5pm.
(she may be the odd one out cuz she actually enjoys laying down and taking a nap lol).
if your son is being crabby when he doesn't take a nap them i'd make sure to lay him down even if he doesn't want to and leave him for a while. even if he doesn't actually go to sleep he will at least chill out for a while and then he won't be crabby.
if he seems fine without a nap then perhaps he is just ready to do away with naps.
every child is different.
