What age should you give a baby/toddler a pillow to sleep on at night?

People always warn about putting large blankets or pillows in cribs. So what age is best to give a baby/toddler a flat pillow to use at night?

1. Both of my children got pillows around 9 months.

2. both of mine had pillows when they started walking around 10-11 months.

3. My son didn't have one until he was just about 4.

It was as flat as can be....now the "King" has 2 pillows!!!! Fluffy at that...lol

4. Because of SIDS, you're not supposed to let your baby sleep with pillows, stuffed animals, etc. until they are 1 year old. Really, your baby doesn't need a pillow to be comfortable like adults do and we didn't give our son one until he was in his toddler bed (since we got the set with a pillowcase) and even then, we only gave him a very thin one about an inch high, so we knew it wouldn't cover his face while he was sleeping.

5. Well my son died in his sleep because of a pillow. I would wait until your baby was able to ask for one at least, better safe than sorry

6. I gave my kids pillows around 18 months.

7. I say about 11 months and if you want to wait until he/she is one yrs old even better. I got my daughter on a toddler bed and pillow when she turned one.

But really when you feel comfortable giving her a pillow that is the right time.

8. my son didnt have a pillow until he was about 1 year old
