1. ebay and tag sales are your friend. I rarely ever buy my daughter new clothes because they cost too much and she'll grow out of them quickly.

Walmart has some cute clothes for cheaper than say Baby Gap though.

2. I have 1 girl (5), and 2 boys, (2 1/2 and 8 months) and boys clothes are always cheaper... my guess... boys are so much more rough on clothes, so they have to buy more, so the people (stores) are actually nice about making them cheaper!!!
I dont know if this is everywhere, but her in Ohio... Childrens place is having their 99 cent sale!!!! check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Perhaps because their outfits are more elaborate/detailed.

If you stick the basics (onesies, sleepers, cotton pants/shirts), the prices should be the same.

4. Craigslist and Ebay are the best places. Buying new is foolish, my son is 8 months old and half the stuff he has grown out of already still has the tags.

5. I understand, i have twin girls. I look for bargains, clearance and sales. I don't buy anything regular price.

6. It's not just for babies.
Kids and adult size clothes for girls cost more than kid/adult boys clothes.
Probably because there is more detail work that goes into girls' outfits than boys',
